According to the Nigerian constitution, if the President is out of the country for a period of 90 days, he automatically loses his office and the Vice President would be sworn in as substantive president.
President Buhari has been out of the country for close to 60 days now on medical reasons. He now has less than 30 days to return to the country.
Would the cabal who have been shielding the President return him to the country to beat the 90 days deadline?
If he fails to return, would the constitution be followed?
Would the country be plunged into a constitutional crisis?
One thing is certain: Nigeria is currently very much divided along tribal, religious and party lines.
Interesting days lies ahead of us.
